Coming Soon: Bandwidth

Capacity Under Constraint

I'm currently writing and editing my first book, Bandwidth, which explores a new way of understanding human functioning through the lens of nervous system capacity.

Drawing on more than 25 years of experience in mental health, current neuroscience, and years of developing this original framework, the book examines why our ability to think, regulate emotions, communicate, learn, connect with others, and navigate everyday life naturally fluctuates over time.

Rather than asking, "What's wrong with this person?", Bandwidth encourages readers to ask, "What is happening to their available capacity right now?" This shift offers a practical, compassionate, and neuroscience-informed framework for understanding human functioning across a wide range of experiences, including stress, trauma, neurodevelopmental differences, burnout, chronic illness, and the everyday demands of life.

The book introduces the Six Forces of Bandwidth, the Window of Functionality, and a transdiagnostic perspective on nervous system capacity that helps explain why people can possess the skills, knowledge, and desire to succeed yet have inconsistent access to those abilities depending on their available bandwidth. Rather than focusing solely on diagnosis, the framework examines the dynamic interaction between the individual, their nervous system, and the environments in which they live, learn, work, and build relationships.

Written for clinicians, educators, caregivers, students, and curious learners alike, Bandwidth bridges neuroscience and psychology with practical, real-world applications that readers can immediately begin using to better understand themselves and others.

Bandwidth is currently in development and undergoing editing. Additional information, publication updates, and release announcements will be shared here as they become available.

Thank you for following along on this journey. I'm excited to share this work with you in the future.
